About Nancy
Hi, I’m Nancy O’Brien, Director of the Quechee Ski & Sports School.
I’ve spent more than 30 years teaching at three mountain programs—including Ski Quechee, Bretton Woods, and Smugglers’ Notch, all known for their exceptional children’s programs—before taking the exciting step of running QSSS in 2023.
My background in organizational leadership, child development, program and project management, and ski instruction has shaped QSSS into what it is today: a warm, encouraging, safety-focused environment where every student can progress confidently at their own pace.
I’m passionate about creating an experience where families feel supported, instructors feel valued, and students learn to love skiing as much as we do. While the systems behind the scenes may be complex, the goal is simple: an easy, joyful, memorable day on the mountain.

Our Policies:
Reservations
Quechee Ski and Sports School takes reservation requests on a first come first serve basis, in this order. Members and member family guests (immediate family), Season Passholders and open to all.
**All reservations will be made in the order in which they were received. We fill up fast so please plan to register early for preferred availability. Please indicate if you are willing to be added to the next available lesson the day you are attending, if the times you requested are not available, based on the first come first serve policy, if you indicate that you will take other options if your preferred time is unavailable, we will fit you in. Otherwise you will be added to our wait list.
Cancelation Policy
Any lesson that is cancelled prior to 48 hours will be assessed a $20 fee for each change or cancellation per lesson per person
Any lesson that is cancelled less than 48 hours before the lesson’s start will be charged fully.
For those who are sick on the day of lessons, and we are notified before 7:15 per our policy, a $20 fee will apply and the remainder of the lesson fee will be applied to a future date within the season.
If you choose to cancel, please email your reservation report back to us with the specific names, dates and times for the cancelation to CustomerService@Quecheeskischool.com.
***We know that weather and snow conditions vary, but if the resort is open for skiing/riding we will be providing lessons as scheduled and you will be charged fully for cancellations or assessed the change fee if moved to another time due to these events. On the off chance that Ski Quechee is closed, or QS&SS deems the weather too harmful we will make those announcements and charges will not be incurred. Thank you for your understanding.***
